We are not always aware of the detail, delicacy and determination of the plants around us. Even more surprising is how little we attend to the most basic, vital connection between plants and ourselves – photosynthesis. Through photosynthesis plants produce the air we breathe and the food we eat. It is thus, not surprising that plants are not necessarily at the heart of a landscape design. This site intends to explore the detail of plant life in the Texas hill country highlighting the biology of common and uncommon species. The goal is to increase awareness and complexity of knowledge to support the creation of intelligent ecological landscapes utilizing plants, not just for their form and aesthetics, but also for their ability to contribute and participate in the landscape
